January 16th, 2024 marks our 100 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! We have been serving our Erie & surrounding communities for 100 years and we have only gotten better at providing the quality of care we're known for!
We started our December right with the return of our Annual Chinese Auction & Bake Sale on Friday, December 1st. Everyone enjoyed the thrill of the win and our residents were the ultimate winners when our Friends Forever realized an overall profit that day of $1,336.
We've played Christmas games, made Christmas crafts, enjoyed our favorite greyhounds in costume, listened to a bunch of wonderful people singing and performing Christmas carols. Heck, Christmas is eleven days away and there's still so much to do!
Our Activities Aides have been feverishly shopping and wrapping gifts for each resident according to their wish lists and we can't wait for everyone to open their gifts on Christmas Day!
And today, Thursday, December 14th, our residents had a great afternoon of shopping for their friends and family at our Annual Santa Shop. December has been good this year. Very good indeed.
It is unbelievable that December is nearly here already! We just finished our turkey left overs! Check out all the fun stuff we have scheduled for our residents this winter by clicking on the News & Resources Button above, then select the Newsletter button to view and print a pdf copy of our December calendar! Stay safe and warm!
Festivities celebrating Veteran's Day started today with a presentation made to our Vets by ProMedica/Heartland Hospice. Certificates of Appreciation, pins, flags, donuts, coffee and cider were all provided with love.
Veterans Day is especially important to us here. We have taken care of so many veterans throughout the years and have listened to them share their stories. Likewise, we've listened to their silence. We are proud to take care of and to work with these amazing ladies and gentlemen.
We had such a wonderful Halloween party on the 31st. People in costumes came out of nowhere to participate in our annual parade and they did not disappoint! Check out these pictures!
It's pumpkin decorating time and we've been hard at work helping our residents decorate their chosen pumpkin. Amazing how they each have come alive! Voting is happening now and we'll announce the winner on Halloween!
When the autumn weather starts to cool and the leaves change, we change most of our outings to scenic trips so our residents can really soak in the sights and smells of the fall. We went Monday October 9th, to the buffalo farm in Edinboro and boy, did we get a surprise!
