"I'm here to tell you how much the Aides on Unit G have
The purpose of having the therapeutic recreational activities for residents at Pleasant Ridge Manor is to improve the quality of life for each resident. Our department, under the direction of a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, works closely with other in-house therapies to augment their treatment strategies using fun and recreation.
We provide a therapeutic recreational program of activities from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. every single day! Our Activity Aides are an integral part of our treatment team and develop a detailed plan of care for each individual. Our calendar of daily events exceeds the typical requirements and includes a number of different options.

Our residents maintain a vegetable garden during the summer and really love cooking with the fresh vegetables and sharing favorite recipes. All of these activities are done individually or in a group.
You can find pets here almost weekly! Grey Save, a greyhound rescue group, and Therapy Dogs United, and Therapy Pets Unlimited, and several individuals bring their pets in to visit. We even have a mini horse named Cimmaron come visit and he's recently been training his friend who is still just a baby to come with him!
Residents have the opportunity to visit with dogs and cats, and to enjoy their warmth, affection, and companionship. Pigs, alpacas, chickens, goats, lambs, horses and guinea pigs have also made special appearances. We have a large fish aquarium and several birds that the Residents enjoy.
We're happy to make reasonable accommodations for all religions and always encourage Residents to practice their religion of choice or receive visits from their parish ministers/priests.
