Cheers to the dogs days of summer. I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!
Erie Gives is more than a fundraiser. It is a chance to highlight what our Volunteers, the Friends Forever, do on a daily basis for our residents. This year, we started a multi-year campaign to raise funds to replace one of our Resident Transport vans. Though a 2019, our Activities Van has seen many, many miles and even more smiles. We use this van to transport folks to doctors and clinics, dialysis and specialist appointments. But our favorite outing is with our Activities Team out and about lunching and lounging at area attractions multiple times a week; all year long! We'd love your support.
We would like to acknowledge someone special today. Donny Toombs is one of our retirees from our East facility's Dietary Team. Don faithfully comes to visit a friend and wanted to do something nice in honor of him. So he took on the complete tear down and rebuilding of one of our courtyard areas. He weeded, mulched, dug things up, replanted, and put a whole lotta love into the project. Today is Donny's birthday so our Friends Forever were happy to present to him a birthday card with a couple of gift certificates to his favorite spots. Happy birthday, Donnie! Thank you!
A small group took a ride to a local beach for some fresh air, good vitamin D, and a great grilled lunch courtesy of our Chef-Driver, Dennis!
How many of you actually remember the month of May?! Seemed like it rained from start to finish and now it's nearly June!

This afternoon, during a super delicious luncheon, our Administration, along with the County of Erie's Director of Administration, Chris Groner, and County Council's President, Terry Scutella, recognized fifty-two individuals and their commitment to Pleasant Ridge Manor's residents.
These employees represent from five to forty years of service to Pleasant Ridge. We are so proud to have employee dedication that few other long term facilities can rival. Congratulations to all!
Our February calendar is now available for you to view and download under our news and resources button. We have a lot of great events planned to help us get through winter! And by the way, don't forget our Candy Grams fundraiser!
